Turkey Shortage

Butterball, the nations largest producers of turkeys, is telling everyone that they may have a shortage of turkeys this year. They also said the turkeys had trouble gaining weight for this years Thanksgiving and it may be a struggle to get turkeys 16 pounds or more. They did say they would send out the smaller birds too, but there just wont be as many big ones. Butterball is en-charge of around 41 million birds a year which is about 16 percent of all turkeys distributed. But during Thanksgiving 1 out of every 4 turkeys is a Butterball so this may be a huge concern to families all around the country.

Almost Got Away

The police just arrested a man in Oklahoma City who escaped from a Maryland prison in 1980, 33 years later. He got caught because he was tired of paying a business man to keep his secret, so he threatened to expose him as a fugitive. Anthony, escaped the prison in 1980, after he committed a robbery crime. He called the police saying "He called back and said he needed to talk to us about a situation. He said 'I'm a prison escapee from Maryland.' He was very forthright and forthcoming." After he did that he was put back into prison and he is waiting to see how long he will be in the cage again.

That's Nuts

In Escalon, California a nut thief made off with 140,000 pounds of walnuts. With all 140,000 pounds of nuts that he stole, he made a profit of $400,000. All of this happened in a little central town of Escalon. It is said that it is the biggest hit to this booming nut industry. Last month 12,000 pounds of walnuts which equal to $50,000 were stolen in Sacramento off of the highway. No arrests have been made, but this is an ongoing investigation.
