Two Prosthetic Legs

There was a calf found in Virginia in April of 2013 with its tail and legs frostbitten due to the extreme cold temperatures. This calf was later brought to the vet to get all the treatment that it needed so it can live a normal life as a cow. Hero the calf was later brought into the Texas A&M for the school to treat it. Dr. Ashlee Watts made his legs really well rounded by rounding the tendons and bones and covering all of that up with a prosthetic leg. Hero was one lucky calf with all the advancements in the veterinarian world. Many other animals have been helped by this advancement with piglet with no hind legs getting a wheel chair for the back legs and a Siberian Husky with no legs and had to get four all new legs.

1,000 Poached Rhinos

Last year 1,000 rhinos were poached in South Africa for their horns. It was a 50 percent increase from the previous year. Rhino hunting has soared do to the price of their horns with their use for key ingredients in traditional medicine. The Rhino horn is now worth $65,000 per kg. and keeps soaring in price. It is now more valuable then platinum, gold, and even cocaine. Many people are trying to stop these poachers from killing these rhinos and are searching for them while they are in the act of killing them. Starting in 2014 a total of 37 rhino have been killed already and now their are around only 20,000 rhino left.

Bad Pilots

Southwest suspended two commercial airplane pilots after they land at the wrong airport. All 124 passengers were outraged to be at the wrong airport even though the two airports are only 7 miles away. The captain of this Southwest flight has been piloting for 15 years and made a stupid mistake. After they landed ground transportation came and picked them up from the airport and brought them to the correct airport which they later went on a new plane to complete their flight. This is also the second time a airplane landed in the Branson meaning to land in a different airport.

The Biting Fish

A swarm of biting fish injured around 70 people on Christmas in a very popular bathing spot in Argentina. Many people had to get bandaged up for small cuts and scratches and many people had to get stitches, but there was one unlucky seven year old girl who had to get part of her finger amputated. This fish is a relative of the piranha called "palometas." This all happened on the sandy beaches of the Parana River near Rosario, north of Buenos Aires. And this all happened when these Argentinians were just seeking relief from the heat over the holiday.
